Exciting news!! I currently have an art show installed at Old Crown Coffee Roasters!! I was slightly intimidated to be responsible for all of the art for the gallery, but to finally have it up on the walls is a dream. Participating on setting the vibe for my place of work is an honor.
I honestly impressed myself, I'm so happy how well it turned out! I did three different kinds of work: oil paintings, digital photo prints, and acrylic painted denim clothes.
Here is an except from my artistic statement for the show:
"As you can see, I work with many different mediums. I consider myself a multipotentialite. It sounds so incredibly limiting to be restricted to one path, one perspective, one career. I am on a mission to do all I am called to, little by little.
I am endlessly inspired by nature and the female figure. Images that invoke emotion. Images that are bursting with colors, sometimes muted and sometimes electric. The organic lines and curves and bursts excited me, as do the constant changing cycles and spirals. I am drawn to shape and color, I linger for feeling. I appreciate you for taking time to experience a pure expression of myself."
I intend to get more close up photos before it comes down on the second Sunday of October. Also, I strongly advise you check out Old Crown if you haven't already. Amazing in-house roasted coffee, specialty espresso drinks, craft beer, specialty cocktails and full bar, lunch everyday, and a weekly changing dinner menu on the weekends. This, ladies and gentlemen, is your one stop shop for every thing amazing.
Did I mention a room full of pinball machines? Yeah, it's that good.
In a couple months I will be moving away from Indiana and head back to South Carolina, Old Crown will most definitely be missed in my book. This place has an incredible amount of character and getting the opportunity to getting to work at Old Crown was a blessing. I also need to thank my mom, Tammy Hyndman, and Michael Mettler for helping me install the show. It wouldn't have turned out so beautifully if I didn't have your help.
